Caller Name Delivery | CNAM
Caller Name Delivery, also known as “Caller ID,” is used in US-based telephone networks to tell a call recipient the name of the person or business calling. When you call someone, the name that will appear is the “CNAM record” associated with your number. This record is updated when you contract with a carrier, or with a service provider who has carrier contracts.
You can also ask your carrier or provider to update the name shown. Some providers will charge a fee to add or change your CNAM, and it can take a week or two for a provider to forward your update to the central database of CNAM records and get it changed.
